Knowledge is growth
oecd.org
–
The growing awareness that knowledge-based capital (KBC) is driving economic growth is prevalent in today’s global marketplace. KBC includes a broad range of intangible assets, like research, data, software and design skills, which capture or express human ingenuity. The creation and application of knowledge is especially critical to the ability of firms and organisations to develop in a competitive global economy and to create high-wage employment.

The Supreme Court has declared it legal to buy text books published abroad at low prices and resell them in the United States. Since the prices of text books in the United States average $65 new and $51 used, and since the same texts are often much less expensive in South Asia, East Africa or West Africa, there are profits to be made. Morocco: an uncertain leader in youth employment
elearning-africa.com
–
In this year’s African Economic Outlook (AEO) report, Morocco was identified as the only country in Africa with a “well developed” youth unemployment programme.[i] On the surface it appears that the Moroccan government must be doing something right. An avalanche is coming: Higher education and the revolution ahead
ippr.org

As will become clear in the course of this paper, we see many possibilities but are by no means certain what the way forward is - because there is no single way
