ARTICLE 19 has launched a series of baseline studies on media legislation and the state of media freedom in seven Southeast Asian countries: Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
The studies provide detailed information about laws affecting the media and freedom of expression and information, the social and political contexts, and international standards to which the countries are obligated to respect.
