The ACT Government engaged Hyder to undertake the present study to review current waste services within the ACT and Queanbeyan, primarily relating to municipal solid waste (MSW). The purpose of the assessment was to inform decision-making for future waste collection services and treatment technologies, and to facilitate finalization of the ACT Waste Strategy. Quantitative assessments of comparative financial and greenhouse gas (GHG) implications during the years 2011 to 2035 were undertaken for each of the selected scenarios.
