This report sets out to examine whether workers producing sportswear, garments and textiles for the London 2012 Olympics are being treated with respect and dignity, in accordance with their fundamental human rights. The majority of the world’s sportswear production takes place in Asia, where the factory workers receive extremely low wages – sometimes even less than the legal minimum. Since 2003 the Play Fair Campaign has been calling on the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to take concrete steps to ensure that all goods made in connection with the Olympic Games are produced under conditions where the human rights of workers are respected.
