
There's a clear link between good governance and reduced hunger. Wherever hunger is a pressing concern, improved governance must be a high priority. In its absence, gains in food security can be impeded or completely undermined. The deficit is particularly serious at the national level.
A May 2003 report to the Committee on World Food Security described good governance as "a key element in the realization of (...) the right to adequate food in particular."
