
This report presents the findings of a research study examining the experiences of migrants from rural Karamoja to the towns of Moroto and Mbale. The research findings from these studies are designed to inform programming, planning and advocacy in the area of livelihood interventions. The objective of this research was to better understand the factors resulting in migration from rural to urban areas, the decision-making processes involved in these moves, the rural-urban networks that remained in place, and the livelihood experiences of migrants who had moved from their rural homes to urban areas on a temporary, seasonal or more long-term basis.
