Malaria in the South-East Asia Region 2010 Overview

Malaria is an enormous health and development problem in the SEA Region, where, 1271 million people are at risk for malaria, with an estimated 90-160 million infections and around 100 000-120 000 deaths occurring each year. The disease is deeply rooted in the poor communities, affecting national development and absorbing a major share of health budgets.
