Earth worship has always been an important part of humanity. Earth
rituals demonstrate our belief that the Earth has healing properties.
In fact, the Earth was so sacred to the ancient civilizations that for
centuries they would settle legal disputes by calling upon the Earth as
a witness. If a person were to swear an oath while placing an item
created by the forces of Nature on one’s head, it was considered
binding and uncontestable.
The MiLan Metis Healing Art Project-MMHAP is a unique approach to this
ritual. MMHAP’s ritual includes to Honor the calcium shells that
protected life in the English Bay region at the Pacific Ocean, the
driftwood that has drifted in that Ocean for an indefinite period, to
freshly blasted Granite high up in the mountains near Whistler, British
Columbia, along the Sea to Sky Highway. The Eight Cardinal Points of
the Earth are reflected by Natural Fire.
Metis Artist Mark MiLan's recent journey to interpret Mother Earth in
British Columbia is a Canadian Metis Innovation, and the resulting
unique MMHAP mandate ensures to proudly introduce contemporary Canadian
Metis Art and Accessories in the Vancouver Marketplace. This project is
uniquely designed by an Aboriginal Metis Artist without having being
mandated by any political group or institution, and it is also the
first Metis project of its kind in British Columbia's history. The
MMHAP is a grass roots project intended for grass roots peoples. Please
support this project by acquiring MMHAP promotional products.
Fortunately, ancient Earth-centered traditions like MMHAP are
reawakening in us, especially as more and more of us become aware of
the currant danger our Earth and Societies are experiencing.
