This report is intended to give a broad overview of the range of activities that have been initiated toward implementation of the outcome of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in the area of gender, population and development. It presents the strategies and programmes that countries have adopted in response to the recommendations of the Programme of Action of the ICPD concerning gender in population and development. It also provides an analysis of the challenges and constraints encountered by countries in programme implementation and matters pertaining to resource mobilization within the area of gender, population and development.
