Preventing the illegal export of e-waste

E-waste is one of the fastest growing types of waste in the UK. The law is clear - it is always illegal to export e-waste to developing countries. This is due to the harm caused to people and the environment by the uncontrolled burning electronics to extract precious metals.

The Environment Agency's National Environmental Crime Team uses intelligence to find and prosecute criminals who illegally export e-waste. Watch this film to find out more about their work.
