The 2008 Sierra Leone Demographic and Health Survey(SLDHS), which is the first DHS conducted in Sierra Leone, is specifically aimed at obtaining and providing information on general fertility and fertility preferences, use and knowledge of family planning methods, maternal and childhood health, maternal and childhood mortality, breast feeding practices, nutrition, HIV/AIDS and other health issues.
