Integrated Assessment first emerged as a way of helping policy makers understand and address complex environmental issues such as acid rain and climate change, and it will continue to be a key approach to tackling the wicked problems that threaten the health of the human-ecological systems upon which we depend. Constructed and implemented effectively, IA can help to shift our current course to ensure a healthy planet and prosperous future.
