On Friday 29 August, 2003 the participants at the World InformationTechnology Forum (WITFOR) adopted the Vilnius Declaration, which, on the eve of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS, Geneva, December 2003), deals with the most accute issues with respect to the information society.
The meeting decided to kindly request the Government of Lithuania to submit the Vilnius Declaration for inclusion in the official documents for the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).

The complete set of documentation, resulting from the preparatory work and the Forum meeting consists of:
-Introduction, explaining the background of the WITFOR and the structure of the full document
-Vilnius declaration
-Annex to Vilnius declaration: Full commission reports -Papers, presentations, panel results of the conference The full commission reports are currently the draft version that served as input for the WITFOR meetings in August. The reports will be updated with the outcome of the discussions and be finalized by the end of September.
Printed versions of the documentation will be made available in October.
