Gender revolution started with equal rights for women in early 20^th century. Women of those times fought hard to find place in the workforce, respect in the society and even a chance to show case their abilities in the educational front. 1.      Canada

Canada is currently the number #1 gay friendly country. It was the fourth country to legalize gay marriage in 2005. This was after Belgium, Holland and Spain. This country shows a different kind of companies to different genders as compared to other countries. This is the country that hosts its own gay pride parade called Canada Pride where the Prime Minister of the country dances with other people and clearly indicates that there can be no place better than this on the planet.

The first Canada Pride was hosted in Montreal in the year 2017 and the next one will be held in year 2020 in Winnipeg. The first Pride attracted 1.5 million people and is said to be the largest in the world. In 2019, the Canadian government released a coin that commemorates the beginning of a battle for LGBTQ rights.

2.      Spain

Spain is well known for its liberal minded people and that is also the reason why it became one of the first countries to accept gay marriage legally, actually it is third in the list. Madrid is known as the gay capital of Europe and it hosts of one of the largest gay pride events in the world, every year. Barcelona is also a popular gay hotspot and hosts summer Circuit festival every year. Some of other famous gay spots include Ibiza and Gran Canaria.

3.      Netherlands

Netherlands was the second country to legalize gay marriage. It approved of the union in 2001 and since then has become one of the most gay friendly countries in the world. Netherland taking the top slot does not surprise many because this country has always lead the way with progressive laws and gender equality.

Not many people know that Netherlands decriminalized homosexuality back in 1811? Since that time, it has created laws banning discrimination based on sexual orientation. A 2013 poll says that as much as 85% of Dutch people support same sex marriage and support adoption and other gender related issues.

4.      Sweden

Sweden has a slogan that says, ‘Gay Since 1944’. How cool is that? 1944 was the year this beautiful country decriminalized homosexuality and since then has become a society that is very advanced in understanding and supporting gender revolution. Sweden has consistently stayed on top of the list of gay friendly countries and is well known for its progressive LGBTQ laws that cover a lot of aspects of everyday life.

Sweden hosts more than 30 pride events in various parts of the country every year, making it the country with the most number of events. Stockholm Pride and Gothenburg pride are the largest and most popular events.
